School librarians serve as active partners in the teaching and learning process. They promote a love of reading and literature while ensuring students have access to a wide variety of age-appropriate materials that reflect their interests and support their learning.

Instructional Design
Inquiry-Based Learning
Inquiry provides a framework for learning. Students are taught how to locate, select, evaluate, and use information appropriately and effectively.
Reading
Reading is a foundational skill for learning, personal growth, and enjoyment. A love of reading is encouraged at all grade levels through a variety of promotional and instructional activities designed to help students become successful, lifelong readers.
Technology
Library users utilize technology to locate materials and information, check out resources, collaborate with others, and create meaningful products.
Library Collection
Each library maintains a varied, balanced, and current collection featuring information in multiple formats. Collections are designed to meet the diverse needs and interests of students, support the curriculum, and engage library users.
Flexible Access
Libraries are flexibly scheduled to provide learners with access to resources when and where they need them. Students are encouraged to use the library independently and access materials at the point of need.
